"Suck it and See". Yes, this might be the best album name in the brit-rock history. Also a very cool and simple cover. They sets the bar high, but do they live up to the expectation?
Paul Weller meets Arctic Monkeys. If they live up to the expectations? Hell yes they do. When relatively old and good bands comes with new records thats not always a good thing. Arctic Monkeys really suprised me with this cd. Their as good as always, with catchy songs and punky beats. I think the sound is a bit more sophisticated and grown-up, but they still retain the boyish and brit-rock feel in their songs.
I think the instruments sounds really good, and so does Turners voice. He's just getting better and better, and I feel this recognition effect. I'd dare say the Arctics are by far the best indie/alternativ/brit-rock band in the uk.
So, is it a coicidence that The Kooks are releasing their new album in 2011 too? I think not. The arch enemies(is this an english word?) have been fighting for the brit-rock throne for a while now, but which album will be the best? I'll tell you my honest opinion the 12th of September. Their new album is called Junk of The Heart, and im so excited(Actually i've pre-ordered it).
If I was to grade this album, it would be a five. Take a listen to it, and make your ears happy. Cheers!
